No Sew Ruffle Tree Skirt

Can I just tell you that Miss Mustard Seed is one of my heroes? Seriously, that woman has some mad skills. I saw this tutorial she did for HGTV for a no sew ruffle tree skirt and I knew that I had to have it for my new skirt!

Isn't it gorgeous? It was really easy to do, but very time consuming. It took me the better part of a Sunday afternoon to finish.

And a LOT of hot glue! But I truly love how big and frilly and lovely it is, don't you?

If you want your very own, head on over to Miss Mustard Seed's tutorial. Give it a shot!

I saw this on her blog and LOVED it! Yours looks great too. I have been wanting to try it, but honestly I'm terrified of how long it will take and that it will unravel! Do you have any tips?

@Andrea--her instructions include using fray blocking glue on some of the cut sections of the base material but not for the linen strips that make up the ruffles. A little bit of fraying on the linen is wanted, so to speak, for that "shabby" look. Honestly, I'm not too worried about the fraying because it's only going to be put out for about a month a year and it shouldn't get messed with too much. So far, I haven't noticed much fraying at all. Yes, it is rather time consuming but I love it so, for me, it was worth the effort! I found that laying out the base section on the floor and sitting in the center of it while gluing down the strips worked best for me. Good luck with yours!
