I know. I'm driving myself crazy, too!
But what's difficult about it is that I'm trying to plan an affordable wedding. I would not be having issues if I were planning an extravagant bash at any location my little heart desired (a chapel in the Highlands of Scotland). That, my friends, would be easy. But planning an elegant, refined affair on a beer and nachos budget is FLIPPING FRUSTRATING!
My main complaint: venue. If I could just find an affordable (but not cheesy) (or ghetto) (or circa 1975) location that did not force me to use a sub-par (expensive) (tasteless) (limited choices) caterer, I'll be golden. Until that time, I have Bride Brain, and I apologize that I cannot think of other things more interesting to blog about right now. I promise I'll get better soon.
(Maybe.)
(Here's hoping.)
(Oh, and not to mention that alcohol is uber-expensive, too, but that's an entirely different post...)

I hope you can find a venue soon! One that allows you to bring in your own booze!
Our caterer served the alcohol but we had to supply it...seriously...we went to Costco (it was just beer and wine since it was an open bar). We got everything for major cheap and they let us return everything that did not get opened.
have you looked into hotels? they generally have banquet rooms, so you can avoid renting tables and chairs and all that nonesense. plus, they tend to have an onsite caterer (better food!) and bar package (cheap(er)open bar!). dave and i held our reception at a marriott, which didn't really seem like a whole lot, but gave me a much bigger budget to work with for the fun stuff (flowers/music/cake, etc), and on the day of, it all came together perfectly. plus, then you don't have to worry about how your guests have to get back to their hotel = you don't have to hire a shuttle OR expect anyone to stay sober enough to drive/shell out for a cab = much more fun ;)
Hey, have you checked out any local galleries? I've been throwing a lot of parties for my charity up here and we use galleries all the time - elegant and you can pretty much do what you want with them. Just a thought.
It is a real disease! Write everything down cause it will go out of your brain quick! I hear its bad during pregnancy too but I don't know. Good luck finding a place! Keep looking!
Ah yes, Bride Brain Dysfunction (BBD). I could very possibly have MoH Syndrome as well. I hear the remedy is plenty of red wine and shopping therapy!
I threw a party last year in an art gallery...it turned out so beautifully. Good luck finding the perfect venue.
